Q:    How long does it take to make a custom corpse?

A:    It depends on the complexity and features ordered.  A standard corpse, including drying time, will generally take 2 to 6 weeks to complete (about 3 weeks is average).  Please keep in mind that we are EXTREMELY busy during the Halloween season (which starts around June for us!), however, we will do our best to get your corpse to you as quickly as possible.  We can also do rush jobs if you need the prop faster for an added fee.

PROPMASTERS:  If you are in a bind we can turn one around to you in as little as 48 hours for an additional fee.

Q:    Are these movie quality props?

A:     Many props today say they are movie quality.  Ours aren't "movie quality" they are the real props used in REAL movies!  Why buy a lower quality  prop when you can own the same props that the film industry turns to when they have a need for this type of item.

Q:    Are the corpse's joints flexible?

A:    Yes!  Unlike foam props which are molded into one position ours can assume almost any pose.  The latex is very stretchable and acts like real skin and muscle.  The head and neck are NOT pose-able.

Q:    Do you rent props?

A:    Yes.  Please email for specifics.  Due to shipping costs it is usually not economical to rent unless you are local or do not want to deal with the corpses after your project is complete.

Q:    What customizations are available?

A:    Hair, length and color.  Mouth; open or closed. Teeth; color, condition, fangs. Decay; degree of decay; Body Color; medium or dark. Ears; with or without.  Any color of eyes.  Also just about any special feature can be accommodated.  Just e-mail us and ask!

Q:    Are the corpse's anatomically correct?

A:    You bet.  They have been reviewed by medical professionals and forensic people who have spent time at the University of Tennessee's Body Farm for authenticity.  The standard corpse is designed to replicate a 3-12 month state of decay.  All corpses are 5' 6" tall.  We have even provided props for police departments and investigators (we're not really sure why they want them...)

Q: Do you do Special FX make-up for film and television?

A: Yes.  We do custom latex appliance work as well as molded body parts.  We also do FX consulting.  Please e-mail for specifics.

Q:  Do you do custom sculpting or prop work?

A:  YES!  We can custom build nearly anything from body parts to latex masks.  Custom mask making is a LOT of work (most people do not know how much work is involved) and our prices reflect that.  Basic custom masks can start around $600 and go WAY up, depending what is involved.  A basic mask may take 30 hours to sculpt, 5 hours to mold, 1 hour to cast and 2 hours to paint.  Adding hair to our Bigfoot mask also takes several hours.  It is a LOT of work but our quality and attention to detail is unsurpassed.

Q:  Do I own rights to the mold if you do custom work for me?

A:  Only if you request it and it would be an added charge.  Otherwise, all creations are the exclusive property of Custom Creatures.

Q:  Can you foam fill your latex masks for me?

A:  Yes.  Add $20 to any mask to have it foam filled.

Q:  Can you paint a mask or prop for me.

A:  Yes.  Check out our custom mask painting page.
